Print quality is at the core of everything we do. We maintain rigorous quality controls throughout the entire production process:

  • Prepress verification -- Every artwork file undergoes thorough prepress checks including color separation, trapping, barcode verification, and text proofing before plates or cylinders are made.
  • Color management -- We use spectrophotometers, densitometers, and ICC color profiles to ensure accurate, consistent color reproduction. Our Color Management systems maintain brand color fidelity across production runs.
  • Inline inspection -- Our presses are equipped with 100% inline inspection cameras that detect defects in real time, including color variations, registration errors, missing print, splashes, and text defects.
  • Post-press quality checks -- Finished products undergo additional quality inspections including visual checks, dimensional measurements, adhesion testing (for labels), seal strength testing (for pouches), and barcode readability verification.
  • Statistical process control -- We monitor key quality parameters throughout production to identify and correct any deviations before they result in defects.

Yes. SYSCON is fully equipped to produce food-grade labels and flexible packaging that comply with international food-contact regulations. Our food-grade capabilities include:

  • BRC/IoP certified production facility with controlled hygiene zones.
  • GMP and GHPs/HACCP compliant manufacturing processes.
  • Use of food-safe inks, adhesives, coatings, and substrates that comply with FDA 21 CFR and EU Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 requirements.
  • Low-migration ink systems for direct and indirect food contact applications.
  • Migration testing conducted by accredited third-party laboratories.
  • Full traceability from raw material receipt through to finished product delivery.

Whether your product is a snack pouch, beverage label, or pharmaceutical blister pack, we can provide packaging that meets the regulatory requirements of your target market.

We conduct a comprehensive range of quality tests throughout production and on finished products, including:

  • Print quality: Color density, dot gain, registration accuracy, and visual appearance against approved proofs.
  • Dimensional accuracy: Label and pouch dimensions, die-cut accuracy, and tolerance verification.
  • Adhesion testing: Peel strength and tack testing for pressure-sensitive labels to ensure reliable application and performance.
  • Seal strength: Heat seal integrity and burst testing for flexible packaging to ensure product protection.
  • Barcode verification: Barcode grade and readability testing to ensure scanability across the supply chain.
  • Material testing: Substrate thickness, tensile strength, elongation, and barrier properties (oxygen and moisture transmission rates).
  • Environmental testing: Resistance to heat, cold, moisture, UV exposure, and chemicals as applicable to the end-use environment.
  • Migration testing: Analysis of potential substance migration from packaging into food products (conducted by accredited external laboratories).

Test results and certificates of analysis are available upon request for each production order.

Accurate color matching is critical to brand consistency, and we employ a rigorous color management workflow:

  • Pantone and spot color matching -- We formulate custom ink colors to match specified Pantone references or physical color targets, with Delta E tolerances agreed upon with the client.
  • Spectrophotometric measurement -- Colors are measured and verified using precision spectrophotometers to ensure objective, repeatable color accuracy.
  • Color proofing -- Calibrated contract proofs are produced on ICC-profiled proofing systems that accurately simulate the final print output.
  • Press-side monitoring -- Inline spectrophotometers on our presses continuously measure and adjust color throughout the production run to maintain consistency from start to finish.
  • Color standards library -- We maintain a library of approved color standards for repeat clients, ensuring consistent color reproduction across multiple orders over time.

SYSCON maintains an industry-leading defect rate of less than 0.5% across all product categories, thanks to our comprehensive quality management system, inline inspection technology, and continuous improvement culture. Our 100% inline inspection cameras detect and reject defective material in real time during production, ensuring that only conforming product is shipped. We track and analyze quality data for every production order, and our quality team conducts root cause analysis and corrective action for any identified issues. Our goal is zero defects, and we work continuously toward that standard through investment in technology, training, and process optimization.

Yes. For food-contact packaging, migration testing is an essential part of our quality assurance process. Migration testing evaluates whether any substances from the packaging material (such as inks, solvents, adhesives, or monomers) transfer into the packaged food product at levels that could pose a health risk. We work with accredited third-party laboratories to conduct both overall migration testing and specific migration testing in accordance with FDA 21 CFR, EU Regulation (EU) No 10/2011, and other applicable regional standards. Test conditions (time, temperature, and food simulants) are selected based on the intended use and shelf-life conditions of the packaged product. Migration test reports are provided to clients upon request.

Yes. We source raw materials -- including substrates, inks, adhesives, coatings, and laminating films -- from reputable suppliers who provide declarations of compliance with relevant food-contact regulations. Our materials comply with:

  • FDA 21 CFR -- United States Food and Drug Administration regulations governing food-contact materials and substances.
  • EU Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 -- Framework regulation on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food in the European Union.
  • EU Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 -- Specific regulation on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.
  • Swiss Ordinance (SR 817.023.21) -- For clients targeting the Swiss market with its additional printing ink requirements.
  • Nestle Guidance Note and other major brand-specific compliance standards, upon request.

We maintain full traceability of all raw materials and can provide compliance documentation, certificates of conformity, and material safety data sheets upon request. Our regulatory compliance team stays current with evolving regulations to ensure ongoing adherence.
